"Harness the Power of your Breath"

A Voyage of Self-Discovery, Healing and Transformation.

       Why Breathwork?

As human beings we go about our daily lives often living in states of constant fight or flight. Stress from work, family, finances, pollution and everything else in between add up to wreak havoc on our minds, body and spirit. Living in this fight or flight state for long periods of time starts to deplete our bodies' natural resources. When those reserve resources are used, we start to set ourselves up for emotional, physical and mental suffering. What if there was a way to shut that process down? What if you could immediately return to a state of calm and start healing yourself from the inside out? The answer is you can! Breathwork CAN and WILL help you achieve transformational healing on many levels!

About Me & Spiro Breathwork

A Passion for Healing

Welcome to Spiro Breathwork! I am Danielle Flannery and my passion for all things holistic healing started at a young age when my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer. Seeing her take an alternative route from conventional healing and acquire the tools to heal naturally not only helped my mom overcome and beat breast cancer but also ignited a fire in me that never stopped growing.

What initially started as fear grew into a passion, from Essential Oils, Fermented Foods and Yoga to the effects Alkalinity has on our body. I dove into the power of healing in all its modalities with my whole heart and mind. All of the healing modalities and tools I acquired changed my life for the better, but something was still missing. This immense sense of fear still resided within me.... that's when I found breathwork.

From my experience with breathwork, I created Spiro Breathwork. "Spiro" a Latin word meaning "To Breathe" was given to me years prior and had so much meaning to me already. I can honestly say there is nothing that has compared to the transformational effects I've experienced. I let go of fear and my anxieties and was finally able to live without the heaviness I had been carrying with me for over 20 years! Additionally, there is nothing like witnessing the transformation that takes place in people who experience breathwork!  I am so passionate about what breathwork can do for you! From cellular healing, improved mental health to life changing experiences, the possibilities are endless.

The world of breathwork offers us a unique chance to connect with ourselves and become who we hope to be. Isn’t it time to put yourself first and take care of your well-being? Isn't it time to take control of your life?

Empower yourself and take back that physical and mental strength you never knew you had!

Testimonials

Abby Hererra

"My Experience with Danielle and breathwork is one I will never forget and will keep sharing with anyone that will listen! I have had my share of difficult experiences in life, I've tried conventional therapy with little results. My pain and trauma were deep stemming from early childhood. When I met Danielle I felt an immediate spiritual connection, she was warm inviting and safe. She explained in detail what I would experience physically as well as emotionally before and after the session. I was forever changed from my experience in breathwork in the most positive way! I can't wait to have more sessions if just one made me feel the way I felt, what could more do for my heart and soul! I am so grateful to Danielle for introducing me to a safe way to let go of harbored pain and gain peace and enlightenment."

FAQ

What is Breathwork?

“Breathwork” is a term used for so many different  types of conscious and controlled breathing.

These techniques and practices have the power to greatly enhance your physical, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing and have been in existence for thousands of years.  Essentially all breathwork styles are modern forms of Pranayama, a practice originating in the 5th and 6th centuries BCE. Pranayama is the yogic practice of focusing on breath. In Sanskrit, Prana means "vital life force", and Yama means to gain control.

As breathwork continues to grow in popularity science has noticed the positive effects and are now studying and recognizing the practice as a form of alternative therapy for treating mental, physical and emotional issues. You may be new to the word breathwork, but you’ve probably done a variation of breathwork before. You just didn’t think it was breathwork. For example, have you ever taken deep breaths to calm your nervous system? This is an example of basic breathwork.

The Benefits of Breathwork

Massive stress relief and deep relaxation: Breathwork has been shown to activate the parasympathetic nervous system, which is responsible for promoting relaxation and reducing stress.

Enhances breathing function and immune function: Breathwork has been shown to have a positive impact on the immune system by increasing the flow of oxygen and energy throughout the body.

Improves mood, reduces anxiety and depression: Breathwork has been shown to increase levels of endorphins, the body’s natural feel-good chemicals, which can help to improve mood and overall well-being.

Relief from physical pain: Breathwork has been shown to increase levels of endorphins, which can help reduce pain and promote well-being.

Improves sleep and increases energy levels: Breathwork has been shown to help regulate the body’s sleep-wake cycle and improve sleep quality.

In Addition to the physical aspects there are endless emotional benefits from regular practice such as:

Emotional regulation.

Deep healing of wounds, grief, and traumas.

Manifesting greater abundance.

Access to expanded states of consciousness, including higher guidance and clarity.

Overwhelming feelings of joy

Deep inner peace.

Feelings of connectedness and oneness.

These are all experiences I have either personally had or witnessed others having after doing breathwork.

The possibilities are endless when it comes to the power of breathwork and what it can do for you, all it takes is a starting point.

Is Breathwork Safe?

YES! Breathwork is safe and the best thing about it is, if you feel at any time that it’s too intense for you, you can stop, change your pace or just breathe through your nose and resume the technique when you’re comfortable. There are no current records of adverse effects of breathwork, however if you have certain ailments, it is suggested you consult with your doctor prior to doing breathwork. Some of the contraindications are:

Cardiovascular problems

High or abnormal blood pressure

History of aneurysms

Epilepsy or history of seizures

Osteoporosis

Recent surgery

Glaucoma

Pregnancy

Anyone on heavy medication

Severe psychiatric symptoms, particularly psychosis or paranoia

Bipolar depression

An active addiction

Any person with mental illness who isn’t in treatment or lacks adequate support.

You’re in total control of your experience with Breathwork. Breathwork isn’t any more dangerous than riding your bicycle or going to the gym. We often fear what we don't know or haven't experienced.

How does Breathwork effect your body?

Breathwork can influence the Neurotransmitters in the body. By changing and manipulating your breath with different breathing techniques you can influence these neurotransmitters emitted into your cells, thus effecting your nervous system. In addition to that, it has the ability to stimulate and increase the immune system and help manage things like, Cortisol levels, Serotonin, and Dopamine along with so much more!
